FDSD’s team has recently returned from the 2012 England and Wales Green Party conference, and those manifesto for democracy and sustainable development ripples are spreading further.
Our friends at Friends of the Earth England, Wales and Northern Ireland have invited us to share a stand this weekend (15th September) at their annual conference. If you’re planning to go along, you’ll find FDSD’s Nicolò Wojewoda there. Look out for the ripple flyers too.
Next up, on 16th October, Nicolò will be facilitating a consultation workshop for alumni of The Otesha Project’s bicycle friendly and youth-led sustainability education programme. Nicolò’s already written a blog post which we hope will help to fire up the conversation.
Christian Ecology Links in the UK have invited us to run a workshop as part of the manifesto consultation process at their annual general meeting on 17th November, and we’re looking forward to exploring with them the role of values in the Manifesto.
Then from 26th-30th November, FDSD will be working alongside Madrid-based IIDMA (the Instituto Internactional de Derecho y Medio Ambiente) to run a consultation for the manifesto in Spain, using the tenth national environmental congress, CONAMA, as a platform for a workshop and a consultation stand.
Watch this space for news of our rapidly evolving plans for a synthesis workshop in December to draw together the consultation responses and get stuck into the work of drafting the manifesto. We’re delighted to be partnering with Salzburg Global Seminar.
