Who we are
FDSD is a research and advocacy charity working to equip democracy to tackle the challenges of sustainable development.
We believe that current systems of democracy, with their short-termism and over-emphasis on one kind of economics, are poorly prepared for challenges like climate change, resource scarcity and an ageing and growing population. At the same time, a thriving democratic system is essential for dealing with these problems.
FDSD researches workable reforms, builds coalitions and works with others to make the case for practical changes.
